Items used in one’s home. When used in regard to transportation this means the items that will be transported from one household to another. It may also refer to items that are being shipped from a factory or a store to a place of dwelling.

Household Goods Motor Carrier

A professional transportation company that provides shipment of items used in a place of residence. The carrier must also provide additional services of binding and non-binding estimates, inventory, protective packing and unpacking as well as loading and unloading at personal dwellings. The term does not refer to a truckline that provides transportation of items inside containers or trailers that are completely loaded and unloaded by an individual who is not an employee or agent of the company.
