GM-The Hummer Moving Company
Deeply engulfed in the recession woes, GM has decided to sell off its sport utility brand, Hummer, to a purchaser, whose identity is not known as of now. This move by the GM Corporation will save at least 30, 0000 jobs.
The bankrupt GM Management, reported from New York, has inked an agreement with an unknown buyer for the Hummer Utility Brand. The details have been filed by the company in the American Bankrupt Court, as company had already been declared bankrupt on Monday. Furthermore, the management had said that the company had been trying to find a buyer for Hummer for the several months. The brand moving company also said that the deal will be finalized once all the moving estimates and moving quotes have been properly analyzed and tested. The deal of moving company is likely to be finalized by the third quarter of this year.
It should be noted that GM was given a loan of $19.4 Billion by the Government of U.S, to help the moving company with bankruptcy. The automaker is supposed to receive another funding of $30.1, to restructure itself. On the first day in the Bankruptcy Court, the company outlined its plans. The troubled automaker is also planning to sell off other major brands like Saturn and Saab also, to clear off its debts. A bankruptcy Protection has been filed by Saturn and its distribution network also, last Monday. The company will focus on Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC Brands only, in America.
The bankruptcy process will take two to three months after which government will hold 60.8% stake in GM, Canadian Government will also hold a stake of 11.7%. as it has loaned $9.5 to the troubled automaker. The sale was coordinated with the help of Citi Group, the automaker said.
